National Gallery’s Department of Educational Programmes

The National Gallery’s Department of Educational Programmes introduces young art enthusiasts to the work of the world-renowned French artist Eugène Carrière (1849–1906).

His works are held in the collections of major museums around the world. Recognised during his lifetime, Carrière had a significant influence not only on his contemporaries but also on key figures of early modernism in the 20th century, including Pablo Picasso.
